Magnesium is... essential for energy metabolism

Over 700 enzyme reactions in the human body are dependant on magnesium. The most important reactions involve the creation of energy by activating adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which is known as the fundamental energy storage molecule of the body.

Also, many enzymes involved in energy metabolism, protein synthesis, RNA and DNA synthesis, and maintenance of the electrical potential of nervous tissues and cell membranes are dependent on magnesium.⁣

This basically means that magnesium is necessary to produce and store energy. Since magnesium is involved in so many functions, many of the symptoms of low magnesium are not uniquely tied to magnesium deficiency, making it hard to diagnose with 100% certainty. ⁣

If you are deficient in magnesium, you might feel weak, tired, exhausted, anxious, experience muscle cramps, headaches or digestive issues.
